Tell me more about….

Tempest Dance Studio offers a wide range of aerial arts, including Pole, Trapeze, Hoop, Silks for all ages and abilities.  Whether you wish to learn and apply the aerial arts purely for fun or to go through your gradings such as PDC Levels, Tempest Dance Studio has a class to suit you and your needs.

Pole

Pole is empowering and strength building. It is a lot of fun and highly addictive. Starting with basic spins, poses and seats, pole focuses on muscular endurance and co-ordination.

Pole is suitable for all ages and abilities and you can even become a graded dancer with our PDC certified instructor Mandy Tempest (PDC Grading Assessor 2017).
Aerial Hoop

Aerial Hoop (also known as Lyra) combines dance, circus skills, choreography and fitness.

The aerial hoop is a large steel hoop, which is wrapped to create grip, suspended from the ceiling on which you can perform a range of moves, drops and poses. It offers many ways to target all the major muscle groups. In an Aerial Hoop class, you will build strength and flexibility with a range of strength building, conditioning, tricks and inverts.
Aerial Trapeze

Aerial Trapeze combines dance, circus skills, choreography and fitness. Perform poses, rolls and hangs using both the ropes and the bar. We concentrate on static trapeze but will also use rope and/or corde lise to build and prepare skills. Sessions are suitable for all levels including beginners.

Aerial Silks

Aerial Silks (also known as tissue or fabric) builds strength, flexibility and concentration skills. Silks sessions are suitable for beginners and you’ll find muscles you never knew you had. We use the fabrics to learn wraps, inverts, figures and poses. We concentrate on aerial silks but may also include work on the aerial sling!

Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga improves mobility, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, core strength, toning, muscle definition, balance, co-ordination and more! The feeling of weightlessness provided by the hammock removes compression from the spine, providing greater comfort and vastly increased freedom of movement.

Kids Classes

Aerial Adventures for Kids classes teach technique and skills for safe practice and exploration in a range of aerial disciplines. Classes are playful and creative and teaching is responsive to the individual. The focus is on enjoyment and personal goals using a range of kit, including trapeze, sling, silks, hoop and pole.
